This one is lighter than many '70's basses at 7.35 Lbs. It plays excellent and sounds as it should, timelessly cool looking in its all-black livery and still one of the solidest and best beginner's basses ever made. Back of the neck had lots of scratches and flaky finish. Otherwise, cosmetically, checking and nicks on headstock. The present nut looks good but a little fretboard was removed. The tone cap has been replaced, but all else appears original. Up for sale is a 1977 dated Fender Musicmaster bass neck. The neck finish, fingerboard and frets are quite clean except for a sticker removal scar on the back of the headstock. There is a small pull on the pickguard at the jack area, but it is not split through.
This one shows a decent amount of wear on the body with dings, dents and scuffing but no major loss. There is a simple slider on/off switch, one knob for volume, one for tone. It was the first 3/4 scale student-model guitar Fender produced. The Fender Musicmaster is a solid body electric guitar produced by Fender. This was the Fender company's most basic 4-string instrument for that decade, and a great first bass for many aspiring players then and since. This is a worn-in but original end-of-the-1970s Fender Musicmaster bass, in a punk-era appropriate all-black livery.
